The lake of Serre-Ponçon (2800 hectares) gives a special character to our Southern Alps region and allows the practise of many water sports.
A real sea in the mountains!
The lake of Serre-Ponçon is fed by the rivers Ubaye and Durance, down stream from the Alpes de Haute Provence and the Hautes Alpes. The Hautes-Alpes part towards Embrun is the best known but also the busiest. By choosing our campsite, you will be close to the less busy and wilder part of the lake of Serre-Ponçon : a guaranteed change of scenery !
From the campsite in Barcelonnette, a wonderful panoramic road will lead you along the contours lines of the lake, then you will arrive in Port Saint-Pierre, a water sports centre.
Do not forget your camera! On the road to Ubaye, discover also the Serre Ponçon animal park.
During June, all the water sports bases are back in service and welcome you for all kinds of water sports activities: windsurfing, water skiing, wake-boarding, jet skiing, kite surfing, paddle, canoe/kayak, catamaran, boating with or without a licence, etc.
Taste the feeling of freedom and discover the lake in a different way by flying over it in a microlight aircraft, seaplane or paraglider.
Many other beautiful lakes, natural, artificial or altitude lakes will brighten your walks: Jausiers Lake , Lauzet Lake , Nine Colors Lake, or Lauzanier Lake …
You’ll discover wonderful family walks, or more sportive ones, especially in the Mercantour National Park.
