The Alpes-de-Haute-Provence offers 1500 km of rivers with first category fishing. The Ubaye is a mythical river renowned for its magnificent salmonids. Come and check your skill, trying to catch a fario trout with fly, natural bait or cast fishing.
The Ubaye valley has very varied sections with rapids, falls, deep pools or fords allowing you to practice all kinds of fishing techniques within walking distance from the campsite.
The small Rioclar lake next to the campsite will allow you to fish minnows. Ideal for a family fishing introduction with children.
If you wish to change techniques and rivers, Benoit, an experienced fisher, will be happy to advise you on how to find the other good spots of the region.
This 2,800-hectare lake is one of the largest reservoirs in Europe. A spot for fishing for predators and salmonids, the Serre Ponçon lake is only 15 minutes away by car from our campsite in Barcelonnette.
Lake trouts and pikes are well represented and often fascinate the general public by their size and weight. Be careful to adjust your brake! Perch, carp and white fish are also present.
Water sports, swimming and lazing around are obviously possible on the banks of the lake.
Full of trouts, cristivomers and arctic chars, these mountain lakes are spectacular places that allow you to mix fishing and hiking in breathtaking landscapes.
Some lakes can be directly reached by car, others will require a 1 h to 1h30 hike, like the lac du Lauzanier, lac du Milieu, Lac Noir or the Lac d’Allos (the largest mountain lake in Europe). Hike for families.
For more experienced hikers, the Lac du Marinet and the Lac des 9 couleurs await you.
Come and fish, try your best in Ubaye!
