The Col de la Bonette is one of the most famous passes in France and the bottom of this pass (by Jausiers) is only 19 km away from our campsite in Barcelonnette!
When it comes to the Bonette, there are two different things:
It is in fact the summit of La Bonette which is worldwide known as the highest point in the history of the Tour de France (1962, 1964, 1993 and 2008). It is also the highest asphalt road in Europe!
Are you ready to climb the col de la Bonette by bike from the campsite? Here is the program:
Warning: The col de la Bonette is open from June to October but the highest section towards the summit can be snowy even after its opening!
